On the day of his 18th birthday, 6-3 Waxahachie shooting guard Colbe “CJ” Noland committed to playing basketball at the University of Oklahoma, just a couple weeks after releasing his top seven schools. Noland chose Oklahoma over other Division 1 schools such as Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Troy. He even went with Oklahoma over Kansas State, where his father had played during the early ‘90s.

When asked when he made his decision to make Oklahoma University his home, Noland said, “I knew Oklahoma was the one for me for about two weeks. It was the best fit for me as a player.”

“Since I made my decision to commit to the University of Oklahoma, I have had no doubts that it was the school that best matched my play style and interest,” Noland said.

Noland averaged 20 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game during his junior year at Waxahachie and looks to outdo himself heading into the 2020-2021 season.
