I listened to “Hit Me Hard and Soft” by Billie Eilish and I honestly liked it more than I expected. Billie Eilish has been famous for a while now, but this album feels more grown up and serious compared to her older music. The title makes sense because some songs are really soft and slow, and then other songs are louder and more emotional. The album kind of feels like different moods put together.
One thing I really noticed was Billie’s voice. She doesn’t sing super loud or try to sound perfect, and I think that makes the songs feel more real. Sometimes it sounds like she’s just talking or almost whispering, which makes it feel personal. The music in the background is also different than normal pop music. Some of the sounds are kind of weird at first but they work and make the album more interesting.
The lyrics are probably the best part of the album. Billie talks about relationships, feeling hurt and being confused, which a lot of teenagers can relate to. Some songs are sad and some feel angry or emotional, and you can tell she actually means what she’s saying. It doesn’t feel fake or like she’s just writing songs to be popular. Not every song is super catchy, but that’s okay because they still make you feel something.
Overall, I think “Hit Me Hard and Soft” is a really good album. It shows that Billie Eilish has changed and grown as an artist. It’s not just background music, it’s the kind of album you actually listen to. I would recommend it to people my age because it feels honest and different from most music that comes out.
My list of “best of” for 2025:
Best Movie
One of the best movies this year was “Inside Out 2.” It was actually really good and not just for little kids. It was funny but also kind of emotional and easy to relate to, especially with growing up.
Best Album
“Hit Me Hard and Soft” by Billie Eilish was probably the best album. The songs all have different vibes and feel really emotional. It’s not just music you put on in the background, you actually listen to it.
Best Song
“Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish was one of the best songs. It’s catchy but not annoying, and it actually has meaning instead of just being popular on TikTok.
Best Trend
One good trend in 2025 is artists being more real. Music and movies feel more honest instead of just trying to go viral or make money.
Overall, 2025 has been pretty good because there’s been a mix of fun stuff and serious stuff, which makes it more interesting.
