Maddison Thweatt Owens, better known as Maddi, is a determined person. When she sets her mind on something, she achieves it. Her drive to help others started in junior high. Her dream career is to be a neonatal nurse.

A neonatal nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse with at least two years of experience as a bedside registered nurse in a level III NICU. They need to be prepared to practice across the continuum, providing primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age two.

There is a hospital interested in Maddi that will put her through nursing school. Maddi’s aunt and cousin work in the NICU. They inspired her to pursue her career. Right now, she takes health science classes to prepare for college. Once she graduates, she aspires to attend Duke University.
