As the chilly fall season approaches, so does the Pumpkin Spice craze. Everything from pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin spice Pringles will be hitting the shelves and restaurants. Just as soon as they’re released, they sell out. This Thanksgiving time treat originated around the time of the very first Thanksgiving. Most people are not aware that pumpkin spice is really just a mixture of many spices that work wonderfully together. Chief spice among these is the nutmeg along with its second in command, cinnamon. Also known as Pumpkin Pie Spice, pumpkin spice is used for many food and drink flavoring. The pumpkin spice latte is a favorite among the people. Pumpkin spice cookies, cakes and other desserts also land high on the fall festivity scale right behind to Jack-o’Lanterns and candy apples. Pumpkin Spice has made its name known by dominating the holiday food category for years and from the way it looks now, it will continue to reign for years to come.
