The first Creed film, released in 2015, showed the world that, in the words of Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed-Johnson, it was “not a mistake.”

Now, after 3 years, Creed II has come to theaters. I saw this film on opening night in a very crowded theatre. My heart was pumping after how much I enjoyed the first film. I can say that, without a doubt, Creed II stands victorious over its predecessor.

After about the first 10 minutes, I was hooked. The amount of emotion and heart-felt scenes wrapped into the new one nearly double the amount of the first film. I felt more and more emotions as the film went on. Sylvester Stallone really took his role to new heights as more a guide than anything else.

This film really makes you realize what it’s like to live a life like Adonis Creed. He lives his life feeling like he was never good enough – but Creed II shows us exactly how good he is. This film shows us the meaning of love, sadness, defeat, triumph, and victory. It kept me on the edge my seat, always hoping the next scene would be better than the last. Here, you can see that no matter your past, it won’t affect your future unless you let it.

If you are given an opportunity to see this movie in the near future, take it. This film was one of my favorite films of 2018, and I strongly recommend it to anyone.
