Malcolm & Marie is a Netflix film drama, starring Zendaya and John David Washington. It is a film about a struggling black female drug addict named Imani. Malcolm represents films themselves, while Marie represents the general audience questioning his intentions, film intentions, authenticity as a partner, and his film authenticity.

Now, the thing about this movie is that everyone who has seen it finds it strange. There is a twelve-year age gap between the two celebrities.

“People often forget, which is understandable because I’ve been playing sixteen since I was sixteen, you know, but I am grown, I knew that, as I grow and as I evolve, there would be that moment where I  could play someone my own age,” Zendaya said.

The pair portray as a couple in the black and white film. Detractors have pounced on the fact that they are so far apart in age, some are also used to the fact the Zendaya use to play a high school student roll-on Euphoria or Disney.

“I was not concerned about it because she is a woman, and she is far more experienced than I am in the industry. So, I am learning from her,” Jonh said. All in all, aside from the age gap that some have a problem with, this is a really good film.
