WHS announces protocol for sports tickets, attendance

With the on-going COVID-19 looming over the 2020-2021 school year, the question of how sports will work is in the minds of sports fans and families around the city. With many restrictions in place, questions of if students and families will be able to attend and if so how have been brought to light. Waxahachie High School has put forth a plan to allow spectators at sport events while following state guidelines IF tickets are still available. For more information on attending fall sports read the following information below:
FOOTBALL
- 50% capacity
- All tickets are online and no tickets can be issued at the gate (QR Code will be available for online gate purchasing)
- All tickets are general admission with open seating (Fans are responsible for social distancing)
- PARENTS OF PARTICIPANTS– Parents of Football, Trainers, Charmers, Band and Cheer had the opportunity to purchase up to 4 tickets for a 5 game home package.

- WHS STUDENT BODY– (During Lunches) Limited Number of Tickets Available Monday of the Game (Seniors) – Student Ticket sales begin until sold out. (Limit 1) 500 tickets will be set aside for students.
- Tuesday of the Game (Seniors – Juniors) – Student Ticket sales (if available) (Limit 1)
- Wednesday of the Game (Seniors – Freshmen) – Student Ticket sales (if available) (Limit 1)
- Students must have ID to purchase

- GENERAL PUBLIC– Monday (12:01 am) of the Game – (ONLINE SALES) Ticket sales begin until sold out.
- VISITING FANS– Monday (12:01 am) of the Game – (ONLINE SALES) Ticket sales begin until sold out.
- PASSES– ONLY WISD ISSUED SENIOR CITIZEN PASS AND THSCA PASSES ACCEPTED
VOLLEYBALL
- 50% capacity
- All tickets are online and no tickets can be issued at the gate (QR Code will be available for online gate purchasing)
- All tickets are general admission with open seating (Fans are responsible for social distancing)
- PARENTS OF PARTICIPANTS (Waxahachie)
- (ALL SALES AT THE GATE) Performing athletes and student assistants will have guaranteed entry for family/guests created from the player roster provided by the WHS volleyball head coach and WHS cheer sponsor.
- Varsity Volleyball are guaranteed up to 6 tickets per game (Purchase at the gate)
- Junior Varsity Volleyball are guaranteed up to 4 tickets per game (Purchase at the gate)
- 9th Volleyball are guaranteed up to 3 tickets per game (Purchase at the gate)
- Cheer (VARS/JV) Participants are guaranteed up to 4 tickets per game (Purchase at the gate)
- Cheer (FR) Participants are guaranteed up to 2 tickets per game (Purchase at the gate)
- All 9th grade games in the Gray gym are Sold Out. No additional tickets will be available
- (ALL SALES AT THE GATE) Performing athletes and student assistants will have guaranteed entry for family/guests created from the player roster provided by the WHS volleyball head coach and WHS cheer sponsor.

- (ALL SALES AT THE GATE) Performing athletes and student assistants will have guaranteed entry for family/guests created from the player roster provided by the visiting team head volleyball coach.

FAQ
Q: Are the prices the same for students and the general public?
A: Student tickets are $3 and adult $6
Q: If available, will tickets be sold at the gate, and if so will they be a different price?
A: No tickets at the gate. All varsity football home tickets are online.
Q: Where, if any, will the student section be?
A: For football the student section will be sections 101-102. Football and volleyball have different plans to fit the different venues.
Q: Will there be a concession stand?
A: The band boosters will have concessions open.
Q: Halftime shows?
A: Halftime shows at Ennis and Copperas Cove will only be allowed by the home team. Waxahachie will not perform at those games. At this time all other games will have halftime shows if their school allows their band to travel.
Q: Is anyone allowed at away games?
A: Fans can go to away games and each school will do tickets differently, but will most likely all have to be purchased online.
