Mrs. Timmerman

This year, we have had many new teachers hired here at WHS. One of those teachers is the new librarian Mrs. Timmerman. She has been teaching for 25 years. 12 of those years, she has been a librarian.

“I chose to become a librarian because I like to find answers for people,” she said. “When I was younger, I did see myself becoming a librarian. I was actually a library aid when I was in the 8th grade.”

Timmerman was a teacher at Midlothian ISD, just down the road.

” I came to teach at WHS because I loved the idea of encouraging young people in their reading interests, and helping them search out their future goals of education and career choices.”.

Based on her high school experience, Timmerman believes we as students should respect ourselves as well as others. She also believes finding the balance is important. She believes we should work hard but play hard too.

Outside of teaching Timmerman loves to read and kayak. Her comfort book to read is “Pride and Prejudice”.

Timmerman wishes to write books in the future.

“If I were to write a book, I would write a children’s book about kindness,” Timmerman quoted. “I would also write a book about treating our children with respect.”
