The Waxahachie Indians sent their seniors off in style on Tuesday night and clinched their first 6A playoff berth with a 19-5 run-rule drubbing of the South Grand Prairie Warriors.

South Grand Prairie would open the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI double by Tyler McShane and a sacrifice fly by Tony Garza. Waxahachie would draw level in the home half, and the barrage began.

The Indians would send 17 batters to the plate in the second inning and score 13 runs, all of them with two outs, chasing Warrior pitcher Jeremy Meier from the game. His replacement, Josiah Mares, would end the inning, but the damage was done, as the Tribe would add two more runs in each of the next two innings.

Waxahachie (15-10-1, 9-4 in District 7-6A) completes their district season on Friday at South Grand Prairie (17-12, 9-4). First pitch is slated for 7 pm. The game can be heard on KBEC 1390 AM/99.1 FM or online at kbec.com beginning with the pregame show at 6:50.
