Lady Indian’s volleyball team will compete in playoffs to wrap up their season.

Led by four senior captains and two coaches: Sandra Fausset and Erika Weber, the girls have been able remain undefeated the last seven weeks. The Lady Indians play their first playoff game against the Hutto Hippos next Monday at Waco Midway.

“We have been able to achieve so much throughout our season,” senior captain, Amber Morgan said. “I’m super excited to see how playoffs go for this team.”

This season not only did head Coach Faussett achieve 900 career wins , other achievements have been Maddie Fuller’s 1000th assist and Tionna Owens’ lead in blocks in the DFW metroplex. 2018 was the last time the team remained undefeated in district play.

“With the amount of talent and depth present on our team the season, I can’t say I am surprised with our record,” junior middle blocker, Tionna Owens said. ” This team fights so incredibly hard and has so much love for one another, which I believe separates us from most teams.”

Waxahachie volleyball as gotten the opportunity to not only play competitive games in district play, but they have participated in some of the toughest tournaments in Texas. They played over 30 games before the beginning of Sep., and are heading to playoffs with a record of 37-10.

“I’m so excited for playoffs this season because it is the time where our hard work shines,” senior captain Taylor Cavazos said. “I believe we can make it all the way this year.”
