The Waxahachie High School’s Greenhouse and Horticulture program hosts a plant sale every year. Unfortunately, due to schools being shut down for Covid-19 last spring, the students were unable to hold the sale, and a majority of the plants did not survive. Over the past eight months, students have been working hard to again fill up the greenhouse. They spent every class period maintaining the greenhouse and caring for over twenty kinds of plants.

This year’s plant sale was set to take place on Thursday and Friday, April 8th-9th, during school hours and on April 10th from 8:30-11:30 a.m.; however, the greenhouse was sold out by 10:00 a.m on Thursday morning. The students were so excited to see that the sale was a huge success.

“This was our fastest plant sale on record!” said FFA teacher Jeanette Middleton. All profits go back into the FFA program to help fund for supplies and field trips. Now, it is time for the students to start preparing for their next plant sale this upcoming fall.
