Battle of 287

Throughout many generations the strong rivalry between Waxahachie and Ennis creates anticipation for the battle of 287. Over the years, the city that claims the highway has fumbled between Waxahchie and Ennis.

“It’ll be a great game with a bunch of great players and a site to see.” said, senior, Jalen Reagor.

The battle of 287 brings excitement and energy to both the field and crowd. It gives an opportunity to unite both communities as a whole to witness a great game.

“Im excited for this game because its the battle of 287 and the stands will be full, the excitement in the stands will be great and it will hype us up.” said, senior, Trey Jackson.

The football players, cheerleaders, and fans look forward to the battle of 287 all year.

“I can not wait for the battle of 287 because it is one of the most exciting and intense game of the year.” said, sophomore Marigrace Coleman.

Two years in a row, the battle of 287 has been voted the game of the week and been aired on Fox 4 News. Many people say that the Ennis and Waxahachie game is the most important rivalry in Texas.

People from out of town come to watch the game, every year the tickets nearly sell out. So head out to Ennis tonight at 7:30 to watch the battle of 287 go down, it is sure to be a great battle between two worthy opponents.
