Eileen Salazar started teaching art eight years ago. She came to WHS this year after teaching elementary and junior high. She wanted to move up a grade to teach more of a high school level.

Her favorite thing about her subject is the process, and the fact that every time you mess up you can just re-try. She loves sharing the art experience with her students and loves the idea that she could teach students things that they didn’t know they could do.

“Everyone is so helpful and kind at WHS,” Salazar said. “Art is not easy. We mess up, but overcoming those obstacles makes the finished piece so much more worth it.”
