Preparing for band UIL

Magalie Ochoa, Staff Writer

Now that marching season has been put to sleep, concert season is awakened. With marching practices, contests, and state over, the band now focuses on UIL. For the past couple of months the three bands, Concert, Symphonic, and Wind Ensemble, have been working excessively to give their best performance and to receive straight 1’s in concert and sightreading.

“I’ve practiced a lot and haven’t missed a rehearsal,” sophomore Dylan Graham said. “I’m excited for when we put the final product on the stage,”

“I’m so prepared. I hope we do well. If we are all tune in we will do great,” junior Dominique Guerrero said.

“I’m confident we’re getting a 1,” junior Sarah Buchanan said.

The UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest will take place on Tuesday, April 17 through Thursday, April 19. We wish luck to all the bands and congratulate them on their ending concert season.
